Care A-Z Publication

In the UK, around 6 million people provide unpaid, informal care for friends and family members who have physical disabilities or mental health conditions and who could not cope without this support.

This informal care saves UK taxpayers over £119bn each year - greater than the entire cost of the National Health Service. Despite this, carers do not receive formal training, support, financial assistance, or even simple recognition for the challenges they face each day.

This series of posters is an attempt to define “care” and provoke new approaches to understanding and supporting carers.

These posters have been distributed across Newcastle upon Tyne and at design conferences in Rome and Copenhagen.
